SITE Run the World Chapter Challenge Dear SITE Chicago Chapter Members, I am excited to invite everyone to join the SITE Run the World Chapter Challenge, an exciting new project that was launched at the SITE International Conference 2007. "Run The World" participant Thomas Hallin after finishing the Honolulu Marathon, December, 2007. As Chapter Chairperson of the SITE Run the World Chapter Challenge, I am working with Anna Chase, CITE, CMP, Team Captain of Anna's Aces for the SITE's Run the World Challenge. The Chicago Chapter is a member of the Anna's Aces Team. I am writing to give you an overview of this exciting new project and to let you know how you can get involved. SITE Run the World starts NOW and I am really looking forward to working with all of you on this project. The project aims to: Promote fitness & health within SITE's membership Raise money for UNICEF the United Nations Children's Fund What is SITE Run the World? SITE Run the World is essentially an international competition of 6 teams each of which is comprised of SITE chapters randomly selected from around the world. We are asking every SITE member to note how many hours of physical and mental exercise they do each month. These figures will be then sent to me, your Chapter Chairperson and I will compile the totals from our Chapter and submit them to Anna, Anna's Aces Team Captain. For every hour of exercise a member does their team earns .25mile (quarter of a mile). These are added up over the year and we hope to cover the 5,887 mile distance between Monterey, California where the SITE International Conference 2007 was held and Montreux, Switzerland where the SITE International Conference 2008 will take place in December 2008. At the SITE International Conference 2008 prizes will be awarded to the winning team in terms of distance covered and money raised. Monthly deadlines / benchmarks: I need you to submit to me your individual monthly totals over the next 11 months. The deadlines for the information are as follows: January: Tuesday, January 29th February: Tuesday, February 26th March: Tuesday March 25th April: Tuesday, April 22nd May: Tuesday, May 27th June: Tuesday, June 24th July: Tuesday, July 22nd August: Tuesday, August 26th September: Tuesday, September 23rd October: Tuesday, October 28th November: Tuesday, November 25th I look forward to working with all of you over the course of the next year. I will send out updates as to where our Chapter and where our Team stands throughout the year. In addition, I hope that we as a Chapter will be able to participate in some group activities to count toward our total – more to come on this!
